Micro-ED

MicroED is a technology based on cryo-transmission electron microscopy electron diffraction data, used for three-dimensional reconstruction of organic small molecules and biological macromolecular crystals like proteins.

MicroED is an emerging diffraction technique. The crystallization process is similar to X-ray crystallography, but the crystal sizes needed are only in the range of hundreds of nanometers.

MicroED enables high-resolution rapid determination of crystal structures of organic small molecule compounds and biological macromolecules such as proteins.

Technical Advantages

Easy Sample Preparation

Only a minimal amount of simple powder samples, or micro-crystals obtained via needle puncture are needed, greatly expanding the application scope of electron microscopy technology.

High throughput

The sample preparation process is simple and allows for rapid, high-throughput sample preparation. The time spent on the electron microscope is short, with data collection for a single sample taking less than 30 minutes.

Extremely high resolution

Extremely high resolution. It's easy to analyze crystals smaller than 200nm. With a resolution limit of <1 Å, it can achieve atomic-level resolution of molecular structures, and can even perform conformational analysis for certain functional groups.
